Gareth Thomas

President

Dr. Gareth Thomas is Managing Director of Skills and Employment Support Limited, established in 2014. The business specialises in helping clients to understand and implement effective skills and employment strategies, through a clear and highly developed understanding of the commercial training market and Government policy. We support businesses to grow, maximise their return on investment, and are currently supporting a wide range of partners to achieve their goals and ambitions.
Gareth is also an Associate Director and former Chair of several independent training providers, including Peritus Learning and Development Limited, a Leicester based training company with a market leading online training offer.

In his spare time Gareth enjoys wildlife photography and travelling.

Martin Robson

Technical & Business

Martin is a director of two businesses; Allegiant AI for Business Support and Roman Britons Web Services. Both offer a range of services, education and products that help businesses stay competitive in a fast changing world.
Martin holds a certificate in Digital Marketing and helps you to convert visitors into paying customers with various techniques to give you the edge over your competitors. He is currently simplifying and automating the Chamber’s I.T. systems in order to provide better value to members.

Martin’s background includes business analysis (converting tech mumbo jumbo into plain English and vice versa), managing global IT projects, and teaching English abroad.

Martin enjoys exploring, especially by foot or by bike, the HFM quiz, and live music.

Jim Walsh

Treasurer

Jim is a self-employed Chartered Management Accountant and offers Management Accountancy support to small and medium sized enterprises in a style and format to suit their needs.

Jim believes passionately that good quality management information is a key ingredient to enable organisations to prosper, grow and achieve their true potential. He can also work alongside the management teams, providing up to date information when it matters, for those key decisions.

Jim’s background is working for many years in the corporate sector in a variety of industries including engineering and textiles.

In his spare time Jim enjoys, football, golf, music and spending time with his grandchildren.

With 12+ years as an Authorised UW Partner and a background in teaching & food manufacturing, he shares a simple system showing people how they can consolidate their bills to reduce their outgoings, and add a passive income stream without it affecting their existing job(s) or business(es).
